The Father Ignasi Puig i Simon Prize is awarded to a research or dissemination project that addresses a historical aspect of the Modern Age from a social, human, artistic or patrimonial perspective, focusing on Ignatius of Loyola’s stay in Manresa (1522-1523); his canonisation (1622); the stops of the Ignatian Way in the city; the presence of the Society of Jesus in the city; and Manresa between the 16th and 18th centuries.
The prize money is 1,500 euros (including taxes). The Manresa City Hall reserves the rights to publish the work, whether on paper or digitally, under the conditions and in the style that it deems appropriate. In this case, the author must cede the publishing rights to the Manresa City Hall. The author of the winning entry will receive fifteen copies of the published piece.
The winning project must be completed within one year of the date of the award ceremony. If the prize winner has not had time to complete the project, the jury may consider the possibility of granting a single one-month extension. The resulting work must be original, unpublished, written in Catalan and be at least 80 DIN A4 pages long, written in Arial font (size 12) and with 1.5 point line spacing, including recordings, photographs and other elements that are considered useful for the purpose of the study. One hard copy and one digital copy must be submitted, and these must be accompanied by a letter from the specialist who has endorsed the project which certifies the quality and rigour of the final submission.
By applying to participate in the competition, the participant declares that he/she is not in breach of any of the clauses set forth in article 13 of Law 38/2003 of 17 November on general subsidies and that he/she is up-to-date with tax obligations with the Manresa City Hall, and that they are duly authorised by the Manresa City Hall to obtain their accreditation online.
