Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia

The Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia is an annual film festival that seeks to explore the presence of spirituality in audiovisual culture, shine a light on various religious and spiritual manifestations and promote inter-religious dialogue and social cohesion. The Bages capital will host the closing ceremony of the festival, which coincides with “Manresa 2022 Transforma”.


Since 2014, the Directorate General for Religious Affairs has spearheaded the organisation of the Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia in collaboration with the Filmoteca de Catalunya, "la Caixa" Obra Social [“La Caixa” Welfare Projects], the Sagrada Família basilica, Àgape and the Verdi cinemas, as well as several town halls, cultural and religious organisations, universities and prisons in Catalonia. The desire to spread spiritual values and beliefs has led to films being screened to more than 5,000 spectators on 30 screens in 12 different cities. Each screening has a special guest who introduces the film and hosts the subsequent debate.

Manresa has been participating in this festival since 2017, doing so in collaboration with Cineclub Manresa. To mark the occasion of “Manresa 2022 Transforma”, the city will host the closing ceremony of the Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia with a screening of The Farewell.
